Tohatsu TLDI warning lights

Occasionally when I start up my Starboard motor I will get all of the warning lights on the tach flashing at me and no power out of the motor. I've had this happen a couple times when I’m coming out of the harbor and go to hit the throttles that motor will crap out. I shut it down and restart and all is good. Does any one have any ideas?

Bad ground?

No basis in experience with Tohatsu, and I'm terrible with engine electrics!

have a look in your service manual. At the back it will tell you what all of the warning lights are for. Also there is an engine diagnostic procedure on the TLDIs, it is explained in the back of the service book. You basically have to hold the key in for an amount of time and it will tell you the engine hours (very useful), and then go through all of the faults that have happened on your engine by using the tacho needle and a sequence of lights that you then use to look up on the chart in the book. It also gives you the option to reset the fault memory. Hope that helps
