Tohatsu prop needed

I contacted Tohatsu and they said that on a 2.8m SIB the 9.8 2-stroke should be fitted with the largest pitch prop that is available.
It came with an 8.5 and they do a 10.

I'm guessing this may improve the performance, or maybe the top speed of the boat. Unfortunately the prop is £200...

Is there a cheaper make than the OE which looks a bit roughly made anyway? Or is this cheap for a propeller? I've never bought one before.

Have a chat with these guys, I have had Volvo props altered in pitch and diameter by them in the past.

Try boats.net or iboats.com

Even in the UK, Yam props for an 8hp are <GBP100.

Lightning, if you want to recoup some of your outlay on the 11", I'd buy that old prop from you.

I would sell the old prop but need to buy the new one and compare it first, to see if there is an improvement.

Can you tell me if this might be a worthwhile swap on my boat/engine?

Or is it a case of try it and see? (Tohatsu 9.8 2-stroke on Zodiac 2.85m solid floor SIB)
