Tohatsu 90 TLDI

Thinking of buying one to replace an old Mariner F90 on a 5.6 m Avon rib used for diving.

They are a fair bit lighter than the Optimax 90 I am also thinking about, but some user info is always useful.

Any opinions on reliability, fuel economy etc, gratefully received.

abc, somewhere in Norfolk.

tohatsu 90tdli

I have had one for the last 3 years and am very happy with it. it starts first time every time even after not being used for 6 months. The fuel consumption in the review are spot on.
below is a link for a objective reveiw of the 90 tdli.( I don't have anything to do with the reveiw).there are many other motor reviews on the same web site they are written in Australian.
regards

I remember reading a review in a British boating mag and the TLDi came top in it's class.

Nothing wrong with dialects - I just don't want the UK to become the 51st state of the USA!!!

I wish Ozzies wouldn't keep using Kph though..............

Davybuoy has one on his 5.4SR and hasn't had anything bad to say about it.

My experiance of it has only been good, and I can never believe how little fuel it gets through.

If only they made something bigger than a 140HP, or do they now?

Nasher.

Remember Tohatsu are actually Nissan - don't know why they don't use their proper name.

140 is old hat and aren't sold in the UK now. The 115 TLDI is the biggest they sell. They where looking developing a 140 TLDI when I was looking for a motor 2 years ago. It appears they decided not to go for it!
