Go on Max, buy the 15 hp, you know you want to, especially with Xmas coming.

We can then discuss your 9.8 2S.

I'm interested in a deal but my 9.8 weighs 26kg - the 41kg lump of a 15hp might be more than my back can carry down the beach - let's see how much Dave wants for it...

>>>does a 15 really weight 41KG??!

Yes it really does.

Remember Max the 9.8 is the largest hp of the 6/8/9.8 range and shares their lightweight build. The 15 is part of the 9.9/15/18 range and is the same weight as the 18hp. The 9.9 & 15 are near identical apart from the tuning changes to increase power, the 18 has a greater capacity from being bored out.

So if you are loooking at a 15hp Tohatsu then best to wait for an 18 to get the extra power at that weight.

If you want a 15hp then the Mercury/Mariner (like mine) at 34kg make more sense from the carrying perspective.

I've a 2003 15HP Merc/Mariner up at the moment for 995. That's 34kgs. Also has gears in throttle control. Nice feature for Sibs.
