From the Oxford English Dictionary:

nite

noun

informal
  • non-standard spelling of night
The op asked about tommywithhotsue so maybe ribnet should have a Friday night rum filled mariners section for off topic banter.

All things in their time. Polwart will be back from the pub at 23:30, all fired up on a half of McEwans Shandy. He'll have this thread sorted in no time. Until then, Chaos Prevails.

I have a VERY nice 9.8, BTW, but I think I'll hold on to it. Nice wee motor.

Go on Max, buy the 15 hp, you know you want to, especially with Xmas coming.

We can then discuss your 9.8 2S.

I'm interested in a deal but my 9.8 weighs 26kg - the 41kg lump of a 15hp might be more than my back can carry down the beach - let's see how much Dave wants for it...

>>>does a 15 really weight 41KG??!

Yes it really does.

Remember Max the 9.8 is the largest hp of the 6/8/9.8 range and shares their lightweight build. The 15 is part of the 9.9/15/18 range and is the same weight as the 18hp. The 9.9 & 15 are near identical apart from the tuning changes to increase power, the 18 has a greater capacity from being bored out.

So if you are loooking at a 15hp Tohatsu then best to wait for an 18 to get the extra power at that weight.

If you want a 15hp then the Mercury/Mariner (like mine) at 34kg make more sense from the carrying perspective.

I've a 2003 15HP Merc/Mariner up at the moment for £995. That's 34kgs. Also has gears in throttle control. Nice feature for Sibs.
