Tohatsu 9.8 fuel connector

Hi - I recently purchased a tohatsu 9.8 2 stroke, which I think is about 6 years old or more.

I have however had terrible difficulties locating the right fuel connector for it. The tohatsu fuel line I have does not fit it, and all the shops I have been to have told me they have never seen this type of connection on a Tohatsu before and the engine must have been modded? It is a M9.8B model.

I have attached a picture below if anyone can help, thanks.

That leaves the question - what Tohatsu fuel line does the OP have?

Here's the fuel line - sorry I'm new to all this, have I got the wrong one? This was advertised as fitting all tohatsu outboards...

That's the wrong fittting. If wanting to use existing tank set up, must change end hose connector.

Ok, I just checked and seems like I bought this which is for four stroke engines. So yet another amateur mistake on my part:

NEW 12L OUTBOARD ENGINE MFS5 FUEL TANK AND LINE FITTING FOR TOHATSU OUTBOARD | eBay

Here is the connection to the tank for it. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but do I need to buy a whole new fuel tank now, or just the part which is kindly linked to in the above post, and attach the fuel line to this?

Leave tank as it is, just buy a new female hose end connector as previous posted. Remove old one and put in the new one..

Happy Boating

That's a standard tank fitting. The new bit goes on the other end to connect to your engine......

Just seen that pic. You need to replace the engine end. RIBSHOP will sort you out if you PM him.

Yeah it was a good buy - but unfortunately in my ignorance I bought a long shaft version! Oh well, I'll have to make do.

Thanks for all the replies, I bought the part now from ebay so finally I might be able to actually turn the thing on!
