Tohatsu 9.8

Can you put a bit more zip into a tohatsu 9.8? Bigger carbs? Or is the block maxed out from factory?

No. It's already zipped. The block is common to the 6hp and 8hp. The next size up - 9.9, 15 and 18hp are a different beastie entirely...

It's the eternal wish for us all, more power/same weight. Sadly unobtainable!

It's the weight and the fact a mate just bought the 9.8 with a sib and just wondered if like some others it could be improved upon.

Thanks for the offer though

It should still be quite zippy with the 9.8 as it is
