Tohatsu 60hp starter motor

Just had the starter motor die a couple of days ago. As I'm on the west coast (Lewis), I didn't think I had a chance of sourcing a replacement. I always carry my own tools over here, spare impeller, keys, kill-cords, nuts and bolts, etc, because it's literally miles from anywhere, so couriers, and next day delivery isn't an option.

I found Ian (Tohatsu service agent) in Point near Stornoway. Chance would have it he was breaking a 60hp that had overheated. What a complete stroke of luck. 60 mile round trip to pick up the part, and I refitted it last night. Fired up first time - sweetest moment of the holiday!

Turns out Tohatsu UK are out of the motors anyway - with no delivery date for replacements either.
