I only wish they did a 175 or 200

I actually looked on the Tohatsu UK website earlier (Tohatsu Marine click on "News & Reviews" in the top left hand corner) and noticed they have now joined forces with Honda for 4 strokes up to 250hp!!! It can only be a good thing IMO, as Honda are meant to be very good, and I would have thought the re branded Tohatsu engines will simply be cheaper?! Fingers crossed I guess lol.

But "Colcreate" wanted the lighter 2 stroke didn't he? Though aren't the Honda 4 strokes meant to be one of the lightest 4 strokes? That said 4 strokes cost more etc lol. Either way at least it gives everyone more options now!

Guess the Opti has the most raw power of the 90 hp engines but is also heavier.
Think that price advertised is plus VAT as I went to Highams two weeks ago and Simon quoted over 7k for the Tohatsu 90.

I take it this is a 4 cylinder carb model 140hp?

is it a good engine to live with, starting, smooth tickover and quiet running, do you waterski with it? What year is it?

In the ad it states "Vat included"? That's rather tricky advertising if its not true.... Might be worth calling them referring to the specific ad

every price ive had off bill higham has included vat, its always worth seeing what they have in stock as they have good prices on ones they get on offer from manufacturers. personally id much rather deal with bill himself as hes extremely knowledgeable and happy
to help, simon is very much there to make a quick buck - as far as im concerned anyway.

From Bill Highams advert!
(200+ outboards always available. Price + vat.)

Spoke with Bill as I always do having been going there for nearly 30 years. When I mentioned new he got Simon to talk to me. The didn't have a Tohatsu in stock or a Opti that I could see but said they would order in whatever I wanted.
Just found the scribbled note from Simon 6450 for the Mariner Opti and 6850 for the Tohatsu 90TLD seem to remember that he said I would need something else with the Tohatsu that pushed it just over 7k total. That's Suzuki DF90 money so I rejected it on price.
Opti 90's are 6100 elsewhere maybe 6k for cash. e-tec 90's 6454 plus mandatory fitting 400+.
Depreciation for non commercial use is supposed to be 20% year 1
Then 10% each subsequent year. Does that make sense?

5.4 Transom Weight

My plate says 340lbs max transom weight and max horsepower is 90, or 2 x 40hp
