Yeah the 150 opti is a bit faster but it's more powerful, thirsy and it eats opti oil too so I guess I like my four stroke because its easy, cheap to run, doesn't smell and I don't have to fcuk about with opti oil.......

Have I upset you opti nobbers yet

Had a bit of a dog fight with DD and the his sons 585 opti 150 mid channel on the way back from Alderney, great fun ( at the end of this video)....

Do you ever change your sump oil?

The 'no oil' argument from the 4-stroke nobends is a very misinformed one.

Just make sure your red glow stick is in your left hand & green on t'right. You could do the usual rib trick of ignoring the 1m rule & put a white glohalo on your head.....

2 smoke. Isn't there a roughly 50/50 that 1 & 3 are the same engine depending on size & date?

Flippin 'eck. Vintage? Me electrickery is at least twice the age of me trailer which is twice &n a bit the age of me hull which is on average the approx age of me engine... And cafe del mar is apparently only #19 in some random chart so life is obviously overtaking itself and so my boat will actually achieve 42 knots next Thursday...

Anyone fancy an oldschool rib event?

yes

my list based on how many see and what we need to do to them etc

2 stroke

yam
yam
distant 3rd tohatsu none tdli 2 strokes i.e. the older models

yam wins 1st and 2nd place as the other are so far away from build quality that the others should not be listed even on the same page as the yam.

4 strokes

yamaha
honda
big gap

all others

reasons. again this is based on what we see and the fact that yam and honda have the commercial market sown up here and we see both of these with 5-8000 hours on them and no that is not a missprint. Yamaha has been working with these guys for longer and now sell direct to a lot of commercial places hence why they get top spot by a whisker as they have a longer possitive reputation.

Honda offer the best warranty and can be self serviced by a competent mechanic so all you need to buy is service packs. Honda are also cheaper on most models and as I have said all ready have the extra year warranty that even yam dont offer and this includes commercial companies.
