Thank you all for the info.
I wouldnt mind but I am between boats at the moment as in I sold my last and have not yet received my new one.
I am just sussing out what to expect from my new one.

That is some really interesting info on Honda versus rest and the Honda Vs Yam. To be honest, I think Honda are the best made Cars in the world.
Their diesel 2.2 now in CRV is second to none.
I have had a 1.5LSI Civic that had a small rattle that bugged the crap out of me and I could never find it. I eventually tracked it down to the radio release handle which was made by Pioneer. The only thing in the car not made by Honda rattled (A bit of Gum sorted that out).
It should be among the best of engines in the world.

We will need to piece together all this info when it falls silent.
What about the Suzi 150/140 and ETEC

The E-TEC is a great engine but lots of supply problems recently due to the change over etc. I have had a Suzi in the past and was not impressed, (actually it was crap)

As we all know these days all the engines are much of a muchness and very similar in technology, it all points down to personal preference.

As one Yamaha dealer said to me one afternoon “When was the last time you saw a Honda at the side of the motorway”

“Not very often” I replied, So I went a bought a Honda!

Still don’t know why he said that!! Rather odd!

I have a CRV 2.2CDTI and it is crap, the most unreliable piece of motoring junk i have ever had the miss fortune to own !! i ve had mondeos more reliable

Just my opinion iam sure that there Vtec s are great as they do make the claim that they have made over 1 million and have not had a single engine failure (in cars that is)

Do please tell about suzuki, was it 2 stroke or four stroke. I thought the one I had (70 4 stroke) was very smooth and reliable frugal also, it just was not enough OOmph for the 5 mtr Marlin for me anyway
.

Thats odd alright, what a gobshite!!

Would love to hear about the ETEC, chapter and verse.
If the Johnson 140 (Same as Suzuki DF140 in white, controls may differ) is not enough oomph to get the 40, I will be on to youz lads to see what is the best engine. I am thinking Verado 200, ETEC200, Suzi200 onto Ballistic 6.5mtr.
I am sure the 175 ETEC would scorch along and I have two up and coming Boyz who think I am their personal banker and "more speed Dad"
I aint movin over yet as I do not think they are capable of a 175-200 Hp floating liquidizer. I will not be skiing behind them....
Actually and in truth they will not be driving this without me on board and after doing their powerboat course....

I am surprised by that Floater and I am glad you told me. I was going to buy one. I had the first CRV (petrol) in galway, Thirsty as hell (I had to trade in the Honda Hatch 1.5 lsi MIG fighter for CRV as it could not take pram...)
Mind you, i loved the Honda CRV, it was the higher spec one with Auto and Air con. sold it and the prson who bought it drove it straight over a ditch. Thats the thing about 4x4, they actually keep on going ovr the ditch, not into it.

I have to tell you tho and I am sure we cannot talk about Cars (spit!) on this forum but what teh hell.
My favourite car was a Saab 9000 2 ltr non turbo, I loved that car and teh kids never got sick in it. You couldnt drive a Jppo saloon after, no pull.
Saab had max torque at possibly 1800 rpm what a car, love em to bits...

Back to boats now...
Mind you teh Hona 70 and 90 is the civic 1400 engine.Wicked smooth.
So is the 150, it is a very smooth running engine..

It looks like a clear winner. I do recall tho that RIB ints didnt like the controls, if we could get the drive by wire on it!!!! well perhaps it would be less reliable,

Deffo ETEC is in the short list....
