suzuki scoop on 140 150

had a good chat with the chaps on the suz stand at the boat show, they confirmed that the following is true of the suz 140

it has been dyno'd at 127 hp and not at 140
that the bottom end is from a 90
that the 140 will probably be rebadged a 130 at some time

the new 150 is due around feb march time
is some 20plus kilos heavier than current 140
will share block with a 175
bottom end is beefier with different gearing
should be more economical that current 140

some of this has been discussed on here and some i have discussed with knowledgable dealers but i wanted to share this if it helps anyone

cheers

chris

as an update to below, the suz 140 is a fab engine, very quiet very economical and owners love em,

General consensus from dealers is that they are very robust and very few issues with the suz new range of 4 strokes and are taking a lot of sales in the uk market.

suz and other manufacturers are seeming to drop the long shaft versions for the higher hp engines and are announcing this currently with the next year model line up, so if you have a boat with needs of a long shaft then your choice will be limited for the larger hp engines,
