Suzuki df300 gearbox seals

Evening,

After carrying out a routine oil change on my gearbox I found water in the box. I carried out a pressure test and found that the drive shaft seal has a small leak on it.

I have ordered a new seal kit. After looking online it seems a few specialist tools are needed . Does anybody know a marine gearbox company that could undertake work like this.

I would much rather give the gearbox to a company and sleep easy knowing the job was done properly .

Any recommendations would be great

Thanks

Tom

Tom,
We have a Suzuki DF300 on a humber 8m sport pro. Last year we collected a long length of monofilament fishing wire which ate into the seal and had seawater in the gearbox. We had the leg pressure tested and gears checked , then seals repaired. All was ok
We use Barry Winsor, of Winsor marine services . He travels - but you are quite a long way North of Surrey. He has a great mobile service van. You'd need the boat out of the water to drop the gearbox.

They were Evinrude boxes done at Beeston Marina in Nottingham. He's an Evinrude/Mercury dealer afaik, dunno if he does Suzuki.
