Stingray starfire hydrofoil

Thinking of fitting one of these to my Ribeye 550 with a Yamaha 100 hp , anybody tried one, claim a 30 - 40 % increase in fuel economy, and on plane up to 50 % faster.

Fuel increase is BS unless you are barely at planning speeds all the time. It will be 30% better at that one speed potentially as before the fin you were not on the plane. The foil will lower the speed you plane at and keep it on there longer in general terms.

If you don't have a trim problem or planing is fine then I wouldn't fit one.

Hydrofoil

Hi
The problem I have is that when I'm pulling the kids on an inflateable, the nose of the boat is up in the air for quite a while until I can get up on the plane,

If your wanting to plane slower while the kids are on the inflatable then a foil may well help as they provide a degree of stern lift. You could also fit retractable trim tabs but they are way more expensive then a set of foils.
I assume you have the trim limit pin as far in as it will go?
Foils are a bit of a marmite thing and generally split debates into lovers and haters. For your use they will probably help with the planing at lower speeds but will likely hamper your top speed slightly
Take the claimed improvements with a pinch of salt they will help but they aren't a miracle cure

I had Stingray starfire hydrofoil for that very reason (towing) and yes it worked ie slower planning speeds not so much bowlift etc ... but didn't notice any fuel savings and lost a knot or so top end speed
