could have been oil starvation into that cylinder. How old is the motor?

Motors are 2001, I'm going to get rings replaced all round and have them check the bearings while the engine is stripped down. Checked the price of new ones - terrifying at the moment!!

Ok now looking at a re-engine, anyone interested in two 115 Fichts? The port engine is running fine, the starboard will either be for spares or will require a re-bore on one pot and new piston rings.

Port engine can be seen running for the moment.

Find attached some photos including one which shows what happens when a piston chews on its own rings.

Did you degrease the piston before taking the photo? Looks mighty dry and does indicate an oil injection problem with that cylinder.
