Shaft Length?

OK, once we have all stopped sniggering perhaps you can offer some advice?

Looking to buy a second hand engine for my Porters 6.5 Renegade project, question is what shaft length do I need. As you can see from the picture the transom has been chopped about at some point in time, it measures 50 cm from the top of the cut out where the engine will sit to the lowest part of the keel. So what shaft length engine do I need?

Are all manufactures 150 HP long shafts, for example, the same length?

Thanks, so is the 20 inch in the middle of the adjustment range or at one end or the other? Are you suggesting that it is a long shaft that I need?
