Selva outboards

Hi all.
Does anyone have any experience or know off Selva outboards.
I am after a 15hp short shaft and saw a 2 stroke 15hp Selva outboard ex MOD aux outboard (apparently) just been refurbished and looks pretty tidy in the pictures for £625
This seems cheap.
I read somewhere that they are basically a yammaha. Is this true.

Look forward to your expert responses.

Thanks.

I know the larger (100hp etc) are, don't know about the smaller ones.

I very briefly had a 15hp selva (it was called a Naxos I think). The 2 strokes have no relation to Yamaha. I would save your money and look for somthing else.

And before that they used O.M.C ,, Johnson ,,, unless the Italian navy used them over there.

all the ones that we had in for repair were for the gearboxes, we put it down to the control linkages not set up right ,we never had any problem with the power heads though.
