rubber hosing on the opti

just noticed on my 4/5 year old 225hp optimax that the low pressure rubber piping supplying oil to things like the compresser etc have deteriorated quite badly. the tubes had split at the ends and were nearly hanging off. fortunately i dont think any serious damage has been caused but it was only noticed when the engine cowling was taken off and leaking oil had been discovered.
since then more of the hoses have been discovered in poor condition so obviously they will all be replaced.
its ironic that all the alarms and whistles, sensors and microchip technology they put in engines its tupenny halvepenny cheap hosing can be potentially responsible for devastating consequences!!

its always used dfi oil. just looked like the ends had split and perished where you push em on to the fittings. maybe in the past someone has taken them off lots of times and they've worn out. dunno. strange one.
