there was/is a boat in the USA about three/four years ago that had about five? big verados it was done as a show exhibit but was tested on the water top speed one hunderd miles per hour , fuel range six miles at wot, you may still see it on the verado web site

As has been said before most of the ones with 8 odd engines are generally drug runners, if one engine gets shot out it doesn't matter.
They seem to have moved on to more sophisticated means now.... subs!

Why ? Why would you need that many engines.
I can see the point of 2 even 4 at a push but any more than that and doesnt the weight of the engines and weight and costs of the fule out weigh the gains from the extra engines.

and wont there be extra drag from all thoes legs in the water.
