quick question about mercury outboards

does ELO mean it has power tilt and trim aswell?

ELPTO I think means Electric Lift, Power Trim and oil Injection.
Haven't seen ELO unless it's on a smaller engine.

No it does not

E - electric start
L - Long shaft
O - oil injection

if it had power trim then the code is : ELPTO

What have you got your eye on?
Can I ask what happened to the Evinrude; my old Evinrude "went" a couple of weeks ago. The gear shift stopped working. I always thought that OMC engines went on for ever, but I had a chat with an outboard dealer the other day who said they were rubbish!

well to be honest, nearly everyone I've spoke thinks there a bit naff, I cant personally comment my self as i bought it broken with the boat, not knowing much about outboards anyway I could clearly see there were no spark plugs and the carb was in peices, I'll post some photos - then maybe if its economical to get fixed, I might do it then sell it - Im after a 50hp, merc,mariner,yamaha - possibily suzuki - with remotes, preferablly with PTT electric start - looking to spend about £1000
