Propellor Advice

I have an opportunity to buy a Mercury Propellor 10.75" Diameter with a 12 degree pitch (part no 816702A40).
Not being technically minded I wonder if someone can tell me if this would be a suitable spare for my Mercury 60hp two stroke?
What would be the price if I bought if from an Outboard Dealer?
thanks
Martyn

Don't know about the pitch and fitment of this particular prop but the price of a new genuine prop should be less than £100 and at a guess would say £85

Noddy, would be worth checking with either your local Merc dealer or Julie at Steel Developments, who also sell new props. She is very helpful, just give her a ring. Do mention Ribnet, as they some time post on here.

The last prop I bought from a Merc dealer cost me £115 and that was 1995, thankfully its not a Yamaha outboard

Take your existinp prop off and see what size that one is, but I think 12" pitch may be to small unless you are planning to keep it just as a spare and the price is really cheap

Thanks Pete
I only want it as a spare so might haggle a little.
Have bought a prop off Julie before and, as you say, she had been more than
helpful.

That prop has a recomended retail of £115 + vat. Is your 60 a big foot or a normal type gearbox?. Because it will fit a normal 60 gearbox but not a bigfoot gearbox.
