Prop Advice

Hi guys,

I am after a bit of prop advice for my little Avon.
Currently, the boat does 25 knots @ WOT. I am currently running an 11.5 x 13 (aluminium) prop. I do not have a rev counter but I guess I am reaching max revs. At the moment there is bags of acceleration and lot of 'pull'. The boat planes 7 up and when a friend in a 12ft speedboat broke down off hurst I pulled that onto the plane no problem and could reach about 19/20knots!

I am looking for a bit more top end speed as 25 is a little slow So I guess I need to go up in pitch. The question is a would people recommend a 14 or a 15 pitch. Nasher has an ideal 15 pitch prop for sale at the moment (see for sale section) I am just worried that the engine may not reach max RPM with this. The boat is a shallow V and realtively light, I usually use it two up so I am not worried about loosing a bit of acceleration.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Yes - ask Nasher if you can borrow his 15" prop! Proof of the pudding is usually at the eating stage
