power steering merc 1.7l

Hi,
found my steering to be really heavy and found that I am meant to have power steering... traced the hoses back to the front of the engine where the pump is on a pully but I cannot see a reservoir??

I don't think ive heard of power steering before, you sure it's not just hydraulic ? Maybe if you post some pictures it could assist people

Is the reservoir not part of the pump. Normally is on larger mercruisers.

NO- looking at the pump and the drawings above its seperate...?? Will see if I can follow the hoses to the cooler ....

Isn't that the old style reservoir, thought it had been superceded by a round, very car type looking one!

#16 is the old style, 39 is the new

Found it!!! It was empty :-O filled it up bled it and then did same with engine on.... booo oil in bilge there is a leak at the back of the pump. Either corrosion where the hose fits to the pump or.... Any idea how the hoses come off??

traced the leak to the screw in hose. Sooo going to see where it goes and take it off....
