Plate to protect transom

What material would be best for making a plate for the inside of the transom where I have mounted my Yamaha Aux.

As the transom is quite thick I only have 6mm to play with.

ALso should I have a plate to proted the other side of the transom as well? or is it just the inside?

Chris

RIBase
Both sides and you really need 1.6mm 316 stainless if you want it to look good for any length of time.
