Outboard servicing in Lancashire

Newbie: i have recently purchased a 5HP Vector 4 stroke outboard engine for my Excel SIB.
Does anyone know of anywhere in Lancashire who can service my outboard when its first service becomes due, otherwise I will have to transport it some considerable distance. I live in Burnley.
Thanks for any assistance

Bill Highams is a larger dealer but there are a couple of independents on the coast that would be cheaper.

You could always do it yourself, it won't be too difficult.

If you fancy a day out with the boat sometime let me know, I am dying to get mine out!

I've booked mine in with Shipshape Marine in Stockport. I'll post my findings after they do the service and a couple of bits n pieces on Saturday.

If they turn out ok, its a quick trip round the M60 for you.

Also there is Pennine Marine at Skipton, they are friendly enough when I have been over but pricey.

Like I mentioned before I had a small Tohatsu 3.5 serviced by Shipshape Marine and he did a decent job and I know that he is a lot cheaper than Bill Highwayman.

thats why I had it done, it was old fuel left in the carb that gunged it up so he cleaned the carbs out and gave it a full service for 50 quid runs like a dream now

He did say to run the engine dry if being stored over winter as the petrol now is crap.

You have Liverpool Power Boats as well - they have helped me loads in the past.

Not sure who is at Pennine anymore, Steve left didnt he? - And I am sure he is now working for himself...

That's not a bad price actually, looking forward to a few more trips this year
