Outboard electric cable
Hello,
I've just realized my electric cable (8-core) from the engine to control box has been cut.
Someone did a nice Christmas gift to me 
Could you please tell me whether I can swap that cable to any 12V 8-core cable?

Yes, assuming you can fit the connectors you need, or splice the new cable in to the remaining wiring.

A crimper, some crimps and amalgating tape should be all you need. The wires should be colour coded and easy to match up.

Seriously I would love to catch the twats who do this kind of stuff and deliver a damn good beating.
Hope you get it all sorted out - not tooo expensively.

No not just any 8 core wire. One with a cable diameter with enough rating for the current that goes though it.
Splicing it seems the easiest way of getting it back together. Using proper crimps and then encasing the lot in resin will keep the water out.

Indeed. Heatshrink around the throat of the offender and warm gently until a slight choking noise is heard, self amalgamating tape around the nose and mouth to remove air supply, and drip molten solder into the eyes and ears.
