outboard 75-100hp

Hi All I have a friend that is looking for a 75-100 hp outboard. The main requirement is that it has to be light. Less than 170kg This almost rules out 4 strokes. He has a budget of below 3k so if anyone knows of any shop spoils or unused or low hour old model engines that meet this capability I would be very interested. He is mainly looking at merc and yam but would look into others if the price, and hours were right.

Come on guys summer is coming on and he needs his piston the be in the engine not outside. So if you are involved with dealers ask them what they have in the store ect. Please

the yam f100 four stroke and merc 75/90/115 4strokes are all under 175kg, so i'm told.

If you look on boatandoutboards.co.uk theres a yamf100 ex demo for £4300. A liitle over budget but a bargain !!! and yam are doing 0% interest free at pres.

Suzuki 70hp 4 stroke

Weighs 168Kg I think.

Will have to be a second hand one for £3000 though.

Hi dgpw

I have in store, a second hand / brand new Merc-Mariner 90 2 stroke. It's 2 years old but has never even been bolted on to a boat. There's all the bits an bobs that go with it (new control box, tank and fuel line etc.) The guy who owns it was talking of selling it for about 3.5k. Good value for a brand new engine.

If its of interest, let me know and I'll find out if he still wants to sell.

Cheers

That sounds a good buy, I am almost tempted to put it on my 585 ribtec. No better not have no money at the moment. I will tell him about it but he may be worried about the weight. I know very little about the 90 2 stroke. Is it the same bloke as the 75.

If it is he may be very interested. If not and does weigh more he will prob continue to look for a 75. if any one has one hanging around gathering dust. thanks. Have a good weekend all

I've checked the weight of this 90 and it's 160kg.
