optimax 200 - 225 hp

Hello,

I'm thinking about buying an Optimax 200 or 225 Hp for my Humber Ocean Pro 7 m.

Can anybody tell me what is the fuel consumption at different RPM ?

Which size of propeller is normally used ?

Thanks

I run a 200hp Opti on a 7.5m Tornado. My fuel burn is about 36 litres/hour at 33 knots and about 52 litres/hour at 40 knots. My average burn over the 23 hours I've run so far is about 1.2 litres/nm.

My burn on an 8.1 metre stepped Scorpion is with a 225 opti is also 1.2 litres/NM. Engine runs up to 5750 however I am propped with a 21 4 blade stainless steel prop and run at 5250.

Loads of ooopmh around 3500 to 4000 rpm and although flat out is great, (52 knots) it just drinks fuel.

Great engine though.

33 knots = 4200 rpm
40 knots = 5200 rpm

Max speed = 46 knots @ 5600 rpm
