Optimax 150 - Earth Lead Opinion

I reported earlier that the battery earth lead connection to main power unit was working loose. I thought I had fixed it but again it came adrift and lost all power.

The helicoil option has been explained but as the thread hole is a bugger to get at I thought it better to re site the earth lead altogether.

Easiest option semms to be to propaly extend the cable and attach to the starter motor fixing, easy to get if you need to for any reason.

I know this isnt common but I think the steel nut fixing the earth strap to the engine has worn the aluminium thread and even after locknut glue it still came adrift.

Has anyone done this before, can anyone see any problems in doing this??

Thanks

Mick don't extend but replace the whole thing ,joins will only start to corrode and you will be back to a dodgy earth again. My son is about to replace both battery leads on his Opti as he has a similar poor feed or earth leading to slow starting .
