Just checked everything over again and prop turns freely in neutral. Ran the engine and all is spot on. Wish I'd thought to adjust the cable for the gear shift ages ago so changing the remotes and finding out like this hasn't been to bad a learning curve.

And flinging that amount of water was fecking great!!
