Only the name is different in some models.

Honda, Suzuki, Mariner, Evinrude, Selva, Mercury, Johnson...

Anyone have a list with all engines with different name but inside the same engine.

In the 80īs Evinrude and Johnsson was the same and also many models from Mercury and Mariner.

I saw a selva advertising that say itīs a Yamaha.

Johnson 4-strokes are re-badged Suzukis for a start. And Mercury/Mariner 4-strokes have Yamaha power heads I believe. I have heard about a Selva/Yamaha tie up but can't remember exactly what.

If I'm not mistaken, the Mercury/Yamaha affiliation (Yammie supplying powerheads) is just about done.

Can't help with Selva because I've never heard of them.

Selva (not sold in U.S.A) make parts for Yamaha - 4T range, apart from the 5, 6 & 7.5 h.p. Models, are re-badged Yamaha.

British Seagull Sports - 2T models up to 35 h.p. re-badged Selva.

Small Tohatsu 2-stroke engines, up to about 5hp I think, are exactly the same as Mercury. And in the US you should find the Tohatsu 50hp and 90hp TLDI motors marketed as Nissan. The TLDI technology is very similar to Mercury's Optimax.

I have a Selva S1400 from 1994. Just to confuse matters, I got an alloy prop for a Johnson which fits & works perfectly. Apparently they share the OMC gearbox. However Steel Developments (London) say that changing an alloy for a stainless prop is a problem when going between Johnson & Selva. Someone told me a while ago that there are interchangeble parts between Yamaha / Johnson / Selva, depending on the model & year. Mike G is most probably the best placed contact to ask about Selva engine parts.
