One to avoid

Hi all.
I took four props,three stainless and one alloy to a local ''prop specialist'' in a garage in Manorbier West Wales,he had them for over two months and just made excuses and didn't touch them.
I shan't name names but the garage resembles scrap yard,workshop full of dead s**t thats been blocking up lifts for months and so people working outside in the rain.
Wether he does a good job or not I couldn't tell as he never got around to doing the job at all !

there is only one garage in manorbier, west wales
its imaginatively called ''manorbier garage''
maybe his prop refurbs are amazing but I never had the chance to find out!

Have you found anywhere else locally that does prop repairs?

Always use Castle Marine. In the past they have been great but not had need of them for years fortunately.

No, I don't know of anyone local.

There used to be a good company called Cambrian Propellers, based in Ponthenri, which was handy for me 'cos I passed there on my way to work, so would drop a prop off in the morning and pick it up on my way home. Unfortunately, they moved away years ago.

After this, a chap near Sw***ea repaired a prop for me and did a decent job of it, but this was over 10 years ago and I'm not sure if he still around - will make some enquiries.

Had mine done at Steel Developments a couple of weeks ago. Completely painless, paid online, posted on Monday last post, back on Friday first post (to Scotland) couldn't tell that it's been repaired and it was well mangled.
