oily residue coming out of the lower weep hole

ok i fired my 2 stroke mariner up and have noticed some oily residue coming out of the lower weep hole , i `m thinking i will have to check for water colour as a seal may have gone ,

it could also be i run my fuel on about a 50-1 rather than the 100-1 ... it`s not much oil but its only been ran in my weely bin

does anyone else get this problem or is it a major must sort now ?

I would have thought it would be worth running it on the correct fuel / oil ratio and give it a proper run on the boat to clear it out and then see what it is doing. Chugging in a wheelie bin with too much oil in the mix wont give you an accurate scenario.

Oily in what way?Black , clear or creamy? Weep hole?

I get oil out of the exhaust, prop and round a little whole by the gearox. will try to put a pic on shortly.

and theres not issues with my 2st 75hp mariner. :-)

If it was winterized it will probaly be the special fogging oil coming out ,if so that is normal but as an aside I would not run any 2/str on a 100.1 mix always 50.1

It is black in colour it wasnt fogged but could be i guess as it only had a few hours use..i was told by a marine engineer to use 50/1.. its not much but i dont want to trash the gear box

Probably 2 stroke residue. it's the wrong colour for gearbox oil.

Looks normal to me. old 2stroke oil running out of the flush hole.

Looks pretty normal to me. Looks like two stroke. Probably needs a good run out on the water. Stick to 100:1 in my opinion and check the plug type.

cheers for that chaps i`m doing a sibfest in a few weeks so see what the others think ,but i think it probably just needs a good thrashing.. being fairly new to the scene its hard to know whats normal

it was coming out of the hole above the flush hole ,not too worried now though
