Looks like Bill Higham, that Verado must have been the newest outboard there, im suprised they didn't dust off twin Chryslers for you or a nice Volvo Penta.

Is the transom on the ribtec rated to take the additional weight of a Verado?

Its an early ribtec and rated to take a 150. The boat previously had twin 75hp on it as well. Ribtec were consulted prior to it being fitted and they were more than happy with it.

For the techie people out there;

A 135hp 2 stroke Optimax is 196kg (I had one on my last Ribtec 585 no problems whatsoever) and the verado isn't that much more at 231kg despite the visual impression it makes - most of it is plastic cowelling - but it still makes a lovely noise when you floor it!
