No tell tale - what next?

Following yet anbother day dragging my outboard through sand and mud (its SERIOUSLY shallow here, and until you find out where the water is.....!) when flushing the motor at home I noticed I have no tell tale. I've prodded and poked all the holes to try and free up watever the obstruction is, with no joy. Next step was to remove the impeller but that looks absolutely fine (which I guess is good news, at least the engine probabaly wasn't running with no water)

What do i try next? Its a 2004 Mercury 115Efi 4 Stroke.

Any advice would eb welcome.

Many thanks

Russ

Try holding the hose firm up against the telltale to push water back through. Or take apart the telltale nozzle and tube to check there's nothing blocking it.

are you sure its not the dreaded "Grommet" issue associated with some Mercury Outboards with yamaha powerheads where there the copper water pipe coming from the water pump enters in through the Aluminium head and you have a stainless gasket and a rubber grommet which closes with corrosion.. i've been told it really only happens in the smaller hp engines. Just cause the impeller looks fine doesn't say it isnt the problem. i had a similar problem a few months back and the impeller looked fine but changed it anyhow and it fixed the problem.

Thanks folks

I'vetried blasting back thru the tell tale with no joy - and waters coming out the prop - so it does seem to be getting thru.

Will try to take the tell tale apart next then
