New prop for Suzuki DT 85

I need a new priop for the above engine and there is no markings readable on the existing one. The catalog lists that the diameter is 13.5 inches but lists pitches from 11 - 21 in increments of 2. I normally have 4 divers plus gear so what should I order? Also the catalog lists bushes and stoppers. Will I need to order these too or will the prop come complete? Or better again can somebody sell me the correct prop?

Regards
Mick

I think mine's a 15" pitch on the same engine on a 5.2 Osprey capable of similar diving loads...............
Don't know about extra bushes and stoppers though, sorry. This diagram might help http://store.brownspoint.com/DT85/fig025-858800.asp

Standard prop supplied with this motor is a 17" pitch. I ran a 5.5m RIB with a Soozook 85 and the 17" was fine for general running about, but for deep water monoski starts, it was better with a 15" pitch.
I suppose a heavily laden dive boat of similar size would also need a 15". What boat is it?
I think I've got a couple of 17" props in the shed - will dig them out if you're interested in buying one.

My df70 on a valiant dr490 (same prop) used a 17 pitch for heavy loads and pulling things , i would guess yours would need similar . slightly bigger boat but similar hull and a bit more power .
Just a guess but may help

I think you'll struggle with a 17" with 4 divers and their kit in anything but flat calm..........

prop

I have a 12.8x17" Comprop, ref is O-4347k , brand new.

It is a composite one, 4 blades (perfect for one who needs torque)
It works perfectly without cavitation - I sold a lot of them to fit Yamaha, Mercury, etc, ... and I have this one remaining.
Not only torquy, but very fast (better than most aluminium)

It fits Suzuki 2 stroke 85 and 90V4, and up to 140.
Johnson-Evinrude 45 to 75 3cyl. and V4 up to 140.

Price is 80 euros

I would like to try one of those , but not sure what pitch i would need to compare to a 3 blade 15" pitch ,
Anyone know ??

I had a 17" on my 5.3m running a 60HP and it was perfect for 4 divers with twinsets

If it's an official Suz prop there is (should be!) a code number moulded into the end of the internal bore near the shaft nut. Letter is the series, digits 1&2 are the pitch in inches, i forget the coding of digits 3&4 . Stainless had another numbering series and may not be stamped in there. My current yam prop the data is on the forward thrust pad, so you have to take the prop off & clean all the grease to see it! The Suz prop guide is available from their website.
