New engine for Tornado 5.3

Hi,

My diving club needs to replace the engine on a 5.3m Tornado RIB. The current engine is a 90hp Yamaha 2-stroke, and obviously this model is no longer available.

We'd like to stick with a Yamaha, and as the boat is rated for max 90hp, it looks like the 80hp 4-stroke engine is the only option. I'm a little concerned that since it's 50kg heavier than the current engine, it might be a bit under powered. The boat usually takes 6 divers so it's a heavy load.

I'd be interested to hear any opinions, especially from someone with a similar boat/engine combination.

Thanks!

Hunt about and you might find a new old stock Yam 90. They are out there-alog with a lot of 'reserve' engines which have only been run to make sure they work in an emergency.
