Nice to see the first test on it - why the hell they had to go for such a huge displacement and so much weight is beyond me.

A Mercury 300xs has a 3.3L block - these things are 5.3L - no wonder they weigh so much!!!

Probably so they can use it as the basis for a future even larger HP engine

anyone knows what the fuell consumption of the mercury XS 300 HP is, or the suzuki 300 HP at WOT? just in order to compare with the yamaha

Evinrude can make the existing E-Tec 250HP produce 350 HP I was told by one of the head technicians of BRP in Belgium. Only problem if they do that is pollution. They do not longer comply with the environmental requirements.

So imagine, getting 350 HP out of a 240 kg engine …

I know someone with 2 300 xs's and he said 20 gph.

I have seen the Suzuki quoted at 85lph.

In the test the V8 Yam was 127lph - gulp!!!

why not build a Yamaha F300 V6... I would have it in my mind when choice the engine for my future rib....
