You try a Merc dealer, or that a little too 'outside of the box'?

Try a Merc race specialist. Dave Crawford perhaps.

I imported a pair of s/h Optimax's from ARG Marine.

But I think they are Honda and Evinrude dealers so may not be able to supply new Mercury's

Not a problem, I recently imported a couple of similar motors.

Just remeber that they don't meet the CE regs, so you can't legally use them for leisure purposes in Europe, plus, as they aren't available through the UK distributor, you won't have a UK warranty.

You could of course return a broken one to the US, but it might sour the deal a little.

300x

Bring them in yourself , all race outboards here dont have a warranty on them . I imported a 300xs last year and had a prob with it and the BOYS in USA were so helpful . DEFINETLY USA will be cheaper and BACKUP over there is WONDERFUL
