That picture has been on an ebay auction before, right down to sitting on the carpet inside with porthole mirrors behind it.
I recognise the pic but don't have an opinion about the auction as I didn't do any checking. As I said before, I don't know if its genuine or not but it hgas been seen before!

Some thing very odd about this one same photo but cropped! He has feed back & has 3 other engines for sale. The original for sale is still on Bouts & Outboards as well in Cumbria!
He has sold One other outboard & 2 camera lenses that I can see.
I think this may be the iffy one!

Thanks very much for that I have taken the adverts off whilst I investigate. It is not the only "new" engine he is selling and he has a UK IP address, a proper home address, and land lines as well as mobiles in his adverts. I spoke to his mum!

Listing says not a picture of actual motor. Since the motor is crated
for shipping, I can not open it to take a picture, so I just used the
one I found on the net.
I'll email original owner of the motor and ask if it's okay to use
his pictures. Thanks for letting me know. I don't want to offence

watch out it's a fraud
Hi everybody. I found this forum and thread by searching Google for "disko4dave".
I won and paid for an ebay auction for a 4 stroke outboard from this guy and he has since "disappeared", go figure. I'm alerting the authorities in CA and in Nevada where his partner is.
What can I say, I don't think I'm stupid. The guy had good feedback, his ebay info matched where I did the wire transfer to (same name and address).
lesson learned.........the hard way.

...and he still does have - I can't see any entry by "cjj" (or "chaschmidt" - is that you?) stating that he's completely dishonest - why not?

Oh I will and it will be appropriate, no I'm not chaschmidt. My ID is troutlet101, look at his feedback later today. There are no more auctions for him at this time. I believe that chaschmidt is one of his ID's along with two others that left him feedback. I think this because their accounts are odd in the feedback and I have emailed 3 supposed customers and received no responses.
I'm going through the motions to complain, file fraud, etc and soforth. If you have any advice about what I can do now I'd love to hear it.

I posted really bad feedback on the disko4dave ebayer. I immediately heard from 6 or 7 others who had been scammed like me. Ebay then claimed that it was Identity theft and erased all of the feedback and gave the "victim" his account back.
Beware my fellow boat builders.
