I Have a 2008 Opti 225 and up 'til now it's been great. But now I've said that it will probably break down tomorrow

I have a 225 opti 2004 with 210 hours. Runs really well but make sure when you get it that you ensure the fuel system is spotless. I replaced every pipe, filter and the low pressure pump diaphragms.

On an 8 metre Scorpion we use 1.3 l per mile at high twenties to early thirties at 3800 to 4100 rpm and a lot more than that flat out. Which is why we always cruise.

First two stroke I've had since 2005 and I'm very pleased. I recently got a dealer to stick it on their diagnostic kit and found that reassuring. Smartcraft gauges are very good too IMHO. Hope that helps

Love mine as well- does 0.67NM/L cruising at around 30kts, dropping to about 0.52NM/L at WOT.

Only real gripes are the price of spark plugs and how bloody awkward they are to change.

What top speed do you get nos? Think mine uses a bit more fuel than that and loves its oil too.

21p Laser 2 here-with my 19p Laser 2 I lose nearly 5 knots, but it could do with reprofileing. Top speed is at around 5350 rpm The boat leaps onto the plane very quickly with either prop, so I'll stick with the 21p.

Apparently the trick with keeping Opti oil consumption down is not to make massive changes in throttle setting as they use an awful lot of oil under hard acceleration. I tried it and it makes a bit of a difference when I don't slow down

I buy 12 (3 packs of4) or multiples at a time from
RockAuto Parts Catalog

or
NGK IZFR5G stock# 5887 - Speed & Custom Marine

Even with shipping (request USPS as much cheaper than UPS/FedEx) they work out much better - and I can afford to change regularly. Search with part no 5887

They are much easier to change on my later 2007 model than my old 2004 - different injector rails. I always use a piece of fuel hose as an extension to my fingers which makes it easier and no risk of x threading

Thats about what I paid for mine via ebay, but it's a pain if you don't already have them (got caught once!).

My injector rails are coming off at some point soon so I'll change the next set then

Well done. You're going to enjoy it. Have you got smartcraft gauges?
