Mercruiser 1.7 diesel fuel filter...

I have heard rumour that instead of going to a Marine Shop to be fleeced, you can buy the diesel filter for the Mercruiser 1.7 DTI from a motor factor / Isuzu dealer. There's an Isuzu stamp on my current filter but no part number unfortunately.

Anyone done this before?

Same for starter motor (*but not drive cog)

and glow plugs

infact all but pistons so I am told.

I was lazy and paid £20 online for it... I'm in Ireland so couldnt imagine it being any cheaper at a motor factor
