Not rattled but quite amused! when a Google expert is arguing the merits of an engine he called gutless and lacked torque simply because he clearly doesn't like yamaha
I've read many of your posts and it's clear you look stuff up on Google then repeat as if you actually know!
I get my information from a lifetime of stripping and repairing engines and my opinions are based on that experience which began several years before Google was even Google

this is coming from the person that admits not to owning EITHER engine.

for someone that has apparently read my posts and says i don't like yamaha....i own one as my aux!!!! clearly i don't like them then eh?. i only drove 200 miles to go get it and sold my brand new 4 stroke mariner aux for sake of it? i guess you need to do some more stalking of my posts.

unlike you i just don't have yamaha blinkers on 24/7.

Chains on outboard engines have had a fairly short life in the grand scheme of things and time will tell how reliable they are.
So to your knowledge has one of them ever snapped ?

With all the timing chains I've replaced the failures were always down to tensioners, spring retainers or "slippers" and that was because of design issues rather than the concept of using a chain.

I'm not a fan of BMW but their engine that was fitted to my Range Rover had done 155,000 mls, my Saab's Scania engine 244,000 mls without timing chains being touched and I can't believe any belt would have lasted that long.

Guys! We get the point, you’re not having thanksgiving dinner together.

Anyways the 115 was apparently 50.000DKR 9 years and 600 hours.
But was offered a brand new F100FEL Yamaha for 75.000 with SDS prop and a handful of gear. So.. yeah hopefully a troublefree machine for years to come.

Sounds like a good deal I'm sure your new yamaha will give years of good service
And if history repeats and it holds its value like it's predecessor which has lost very little in reality in 9 years it will prove to be a very cost effective purchase indeed

You will be happy with 100hp I'm sure going from 60hp.

Sounds like a bit of a no brainer price wise too, good result....enjoy.
