Where do you measure your shaft length from?

Steady on all you ladies out there!!!!!

I have been looking through a suzuki outboard brochure and noticed a DF115 has a long shaft length of 508mm, and an xtra long shaft length of 635mm. My question is where exactly do these measurements start and finish on the outboard?

I imagine you haven't had a reply as the question is a bit too complex for the majority of people on here.

Have a look at this.....
