Mariner/Quicksilver 5 pin tacho lead?

Have fitted my Mariner 75 and just need now to connect the rev counter, I can chop the 5 pin plug off I suppose but it would be nice to not do so. Does anyone know where I can buy the loom extension?

like this Mercury Quicksilver Tachometer Harness Pt # 84-86938A1 | eBay

Thanks in advance

You need Part number 84-86396A8 If your using a commander 2000 side mount control. Its the 5 pin connector type. Not the one on e bay. Price To you with your Ribnet discount is £37.59 inc delivery to you.

Thanks, I am too tight to pay that for my old bucket! Time to get the old cable cutters out! Thanks for the reply though I appreciate it.

Guys, I have the same issue with my rev counter and trim gauge. I have the plug lead with connections to the instruments but would be happy to cut and connect if I knew where I am wiring back to? Does it connect into the side controls (mercury) or back to the outboard? My outboard is a 2007 Mariner 80 EFI 4 Stroke

Thanks

Is that using smart crafts or the older 8 pin adapter ? 8 pin will have a plug-in leading from control box. Smarts will also have plug in from box but it's a different connection the the round clip you mention

The lead that came with the gauges has a five pin at the end of it. The aide mount control has five single wires and one block as per the pic!

It's the newer style box but I suspect you have the older style gauges which were used with the commander 2000 box mentioned above. Your control box is meant for smart crafts. There was some available on here not so long back. Think they went on eBay in the end. Ask Cookee

Thanks Peter. Amazing as when the engine was bought they were supplied with it but I reckon your spot on.

I presume the older gauges wont work with the new system?

The 80, 4 stroke is supplied with the standard analoge gauges, not smarcraft. I think you have the correct gauges & control box but wrong lead to between them. will thy and find the part no

Thanks Ian. Is it that It's just a newer connection block on the controller? If you could point me in the right direction with the part no I would really appreciate it!

Understand that but the leads connected to the control box so it cannot be as standard and correct ?

I think he has the one in the first pic, which connects directly to smart and the analogue with said harness ? the older style (2nd pic) box is the one his current gauge harness connects to based on how I see it, unless I'm mis-understanding

Edit

See what you mean now in regard he has wrong connection lead, not wrong fitting block on control box.

ok, got the third picture now. The part no I have given will connect the old style gauges (still supplied with 4 strokes upto 115hp) to the new style control box, It is the same as the old leads for the 5 pin control box but now has a new style multi block as supplied with control boxs post 2006
