on the 60hp the WOT timing taken back to 19degrees BTDC, the fuel and water preasure have to be checked,and make sure that they are within factory spec, (dont ask me cos ive forgotten, ask a merc/mar dealer)the top carb, you need to find out what the std main jet size is, then get a new main jet two sizes bigger, TOP CARB ONLY, the part number for the jet can be got from the early 75 hp service manual. When you have done all that , you now need to make sure that its properly properly, WOT 5,800 RPM .
