Get them too pull the flywheel off and check the woodruff KEY on the crankshaft ?? If that KEY is brocken that flywheel will be turning and obviously trying to turn the crank and the timing and spark will be all over the place . Thanks for the above advice, I really appreciate that people are trying to help. I have no real access to the boat to try anything out, it has been with the dealers now for 6 weeks.
I passed on the info re the interrupter switch from "wavelength" but no feed back as yet from the experts. I will see if they think it is a timing problem but do not hold out any hope for a fix in the near future. I want to put a new motor on the boat but have been told the one I want is not available until end August.
Still, on the plus side, it's not getting worn out with excessive use!
