the mariner 40 hp can be retro fitted with remote steering to replace the tiller
i think its about 300 pounds the kit that makes it under 2k good buy

Thanks for the info Tim.

Nick, Dan - Initially i was looking at new 40's as although the ex contract engines are a great deal, i couldnt live without power trim and tilt!

Since then however, ive been very tempted with an E-Tec - should save the difference in initial cost in fuel and servicing over the first 3 years!

We'll see how it pans out though - need to get the boat sorted first!

Are you sayig that you buy the Etec and then you have no service costs for the first three years?

On E-tecs 'rude claim that they require no servicing for 3 years and also they have no run in period. Personally, if it was my engine I would have it serviced every year.
