Ohh conflicting. Can I ask where you got that from ? The quick check I did put it at 1991. Am I wrong ? Here's the info i got on it which shows the Mariner 30M with that serial range (right at the bottom of the picture). The 1984 models were 30A M with serial range of 023****

Or am I reading it wrong ?

I use a different source to you Peter and that gives 1991. I think Aqua has made a mistake on the serial number range by a factor of 10... easy to do when scanning down the years.

I expected it to be the 30hp Yamaha Origin series too. A good enough motor. When you rev them without load they knock and pop alarmingly as the revs drop. It's not a fault, that's just what they do. 50:1 oil on the Mariner engine. 100:1 on the Yamaha, hehe, you choose. They were used by the RNLI at that time.

Thats excatly what it does have you been listening to me running it in my drum
What would you recommend for oil mix the 50:1 or 100:1

75/1 seems reasonable compromise
