For those interested, I did end up purchasing the cover from the States, it cost 15 all in and arrived yesterday. I've just to find some gasket material and I can go ahead, refit it and use my RIB again.

These are the before and after pics and shows very clearly that even the engine components are susceptible to electrolysis.
